Here's some reasons it will be as fast or even fast than 2.4 GHz

1. Higher Bus Speeds
2. Faster RAM DDR3
3. Higher Graphics

Probably saw another thread where a guy was saying the new ones wont be as fast as the old ones.

I hate up dates. Because of all the threads about:

ShOu i biy da Neew makbooc!!?!?!??!?:apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:

wait, is this true then? cause I was looking at getting it but was turned of by the processing spead.....cant afford the others.

would apreciate any answers

It has a higher bus speed, but the cache is the same. Some tasks might be better but most will be worse. It's probably irrelevant for everyday tasks because my wife's 2+ year-old 1.86 core duo is still reasonably fast.

As a tangent, which might help...

Apple has the 2.4 Penryn MBP's in the refurb store for 1350!
