I took my 2007 black macbook to apple yesterday because the battery had slight welling. Showed the tech and he right away walked away from me and grabbed a new battery. Said that is a problem he is a new one go home and charge it very simple and awesome. So they are still replacing batteries for macbook with the issues as mine had.

it seems to be a safety issue ... they do not want these things bursting and causing even more damage
