I'm considering, like many of you, selling my current iPhone on Ebay and using something basic/cheap until the 2nd Generation iPhone comes out. But I have a question for anyone who has/is doing this currently...

What did you "do" with AT&T to get this done? What phone are you using in the mean time? How did you get everything set up?

Any help at all would be much appreciated!

FYI - I'm about 6 months into a 2 year contract.

I'm thinking about it as well, except that T-Mobile doesn't have a 3G network yet so I'd be stuck without a phone for a while.

just restore iphone - simple..

then put ur sim into a cheap phone and use...

ihope this helps. more info PM me.

exactly buy a cheap pay as you go motorola gophone and be done with it.

Sorry I'm pretty new at this stuff....

So if I restore my iPhone, pull the SIM card and sell it on Ebay, I can just get a cheap GoPhone, put the SIM card in it, still use it on AT&T, and nothing changes? Then buy the "new" 3G iPhone, put the SIM card back in it, and be done??

Thanks in advance for your help.

Before you send off your iPhone to eBay have a look at this.
To be sure, also do a Settings>General>Reset on your iPhone.

I don't see why not. As long as the raw data is available to view via ssh it should be possible to wipe it out as well.
