Hello Guys,

I plan to buy my first iPad,but because I havent got that much money,I thinking about to go for the now discounted iPad 2 16gb + 3g for around 330£ (I live in the UK). Or wait a couple of months to gather some money and go for the New iPad?

Ok retina display, better camera is good but for the first iPad maybe an iPad 2 is still ok.

What is your opinion?

The iPad 2 is a great device. I actually don't believe the new iPad is a massive step up (particularly in the UK, with no 4G).

That said, my view is that if you are going to spend a few hundred quid, you might as well spend that small increment more and get the latest device.

$100 difference are you kidding me? of course get the new ipad with the retina display!!

Absolutely, my brother has an iPad2 and he says he barely uses the camera. The display is still quite nice. There's no need to get a more expensjve iPad if the older one still works!

I am wondering this too, I won't use the camera much, and would be getting wifi version for LTE is not important... so the only real difference for me would be the screen and the processor. I just can't decide if it is worth the extra $100...

The thing is I need the 3G version so if I go for the New iPad the difference between the iPad 2 3g (340£) and the New iPad 3g (499£) is 150£ which I can spend somewhere else. I not going to use the camera, the only thing is the Retina display...

Totally get what you're saying. My advice would be to just get the ipad2, it may not have the retina display but it will get the job done! but if the retina display alone is worth $100 to you then by all means get the new iPad.
