iPhone 17 Pro Max For In Store Pick Up: How Far out can you choose when you can pick the phone up for pre-order?

Does anyone have an idea of how far out you can choose your In Store pick up date? I prefer to go into the store for trade in and also have some gift cards to use. This year not thinking of the iPhone release date I planned vacation outside of the country. Wont be back to pick up till the 28th. Two years ago I did the Pre order, then that Friday morning purchased for In store pick up. In store they actually void what you did on line and process like a new transaction and trade in. My questions is if I do this on Friday can I pick an In store date of September 28th? Or will I just have to wait till keep checking for Store availability. I plan on getting the 17PM.

If I choose the Ultra 3 right now for pre-order, the only options are Friday 19th, Saturday 20th and Sunday the 21st.

I’m from the Netherlands and currently on holiday in the USA & Canada. Flying back home from Seattle on the 21st so thinking about picking one up in Apple Store Alderwood.

Thanks, I was thinking that may be the case, plus from everywhere I have read plus what plus what Chat GPT said, they will hold it up till 7 days after the pickup date which would give me till the 28th which will work for me.

I did not have that experience with an appointment for pickup. If you go without one, a long wait is guaranteed

Me either, two years ago I had an appointment on the first day and while we did wait about 30 minutes outside the store we had fun talking with people in line. I did a trade in and had backed up everything previously so once inside the store I quickly transferred over from my 14PM to the 15 PM and the phone finished uploading everything once I got home. It was not at all crazy and rather a fun atmosphere.
I am actually going to by in NYC Time Square area next Friday the 19th and thought about getting the phone at that location but decided against it with too many things that could go wrong and then not having my phone for the remainder of my vacation. We will not be in my home town Apple store location till the 28th.
