For in-store pick ups, how long will they hold the phone for?

I reserved a 128gb plus space gray for pick up at my store and was lucky to get a 9/19 date. I can't pick it up that day. How long will they hold it for?

They'll hold it for a week or more, but you have to contact them and let them know when you're coming.

I was told by my Apple store that they are held for the entirety of launch day and then released for public sale 9/20.
