Hello all, I know I have been asking a about this, but I thought I might make a new post and word it a bit better for easier understanding. If moderators want to combine my threads, or something that is ok.
I have old software and hardware that was expensive, and I would like to keep using it all.
I understand that the newer m1 macs will not support this stuff like Adobe CS6.
So that leaves me with keeping an older intel system going. Right now, I have my 5,1 mac pro. I also have read that there are intel mac minis from 2018, and 2020.
I could get an intel mac mini and possibly sell my 5,1.
or I could upgrade my 5,1 with a newer graphics card, more ram, and maybe some port expansions, however, it would still be older and have just usb 2 ports and firewire.
My question is, would I be better using the money that I would spend upgrading my 5,1 towards a newer mac mini, which would have newer ports on it, or keeping and upgrading my 5,1?
As I mentioned in another thread, I had a 2011 mini, and it would get hot, and the fans would spin up, and I had problems with it overheating, and it eventually would not boot up.
