how is the heat of the air , can you feel a little bit of heat over the keyboard?is it cooler than the mbp retina 13inch late 2013 (over that keyboard i can feel a little heat over the keyboard)

Can't compare with the 2013 rMPB, but I definitely find that my Air runs much cooler than my 2012 rMPB, even running the same apps. The only time I've ever noticed any heat over the keyboard of the Air is when I'm using it on the couch and have it in my lap without proper space for ventilation. When it's being used on a table or flat surface, I never notice any heat at all.

Hope that helps.

It stays bone cold. Stark difference to my 2011 11", which would heat up and ramp the fans if you looked at it sideways.

i will say that if i have it plugged into the TBD and watching videos over airplay it will warm up slightly.

pretty awesome how cool and silent this thing stays. other than the updates that run the fans, the only time i ever hear them is if i'm playing a game which is almost never now that i'm old and defeated by life:p

My i5 you can almost consider fan-less - always cool to the touch and I can't remember the last time the fan kicked on

The only time it gets warm on the palm rest is when I am running two vm's and both of them are busy with their respective tasks. Other than that, the fans do not generally come on and palm rests and keyboard is cooler than room temp.

The high temp I recorded with a Heat Gun was 89F. That's with the lid closed using it as a desktop on a 27" monitor. ZERO NOISE. Dead silent.
