Amazon's avaliability status for the new base model Macbook Pro's has changed from pre-order to tempararily out of stock. This may indicate that some baseline models have been shipped and more are to be shipped later this week.

For my order on Macmall, the status for my baseline model has changed from "Backordered" to "In Processing". This along with the final charges apearing on the order status, points to the device being shipped soon.

But, I'm not getting my hopes up too much since this is quite a bit sooner than I was expecting Macbook Pro's to ship.

I hope this atleast gives people who have ordered from other online retailers besides apple, some rough estimate of when their order may be shipped.

P.S. I ordered my system from Macmall the tuesday that they were announced (the 26th).

Update: My Macmall order did indeed ship today, which is quite a surprise. I hope others are having the same experience at their respective retailers.
