For those of you buying a 3GS and selling your 3G...

Are you going to upgrade your 3G to 3.0 on the 17th? Or have you already, using the GM? Or do you plan to wait to see 3.0 upon the purchase of your 3GS?

Jailbroken/unlocked phones fetch more on the Bay, and there's a glut of non-JB/locked 3G phones on there now. Although I'd like to upgrade, just to play around with 3.0, I think it would be wise to wait in terms of resale value.

BTW, it appears possible to downgrade the 2.30.03 baseband using "pHaseBanDowngrader" to facilitate unlocking a 3G...but that is not yet possible for a phone upgraded to 3.0.

i already upgraded to 3.0 but wish i kept my 2.2.1 jb haha.

If i sell it on ebay for 500, no contract early term etc..

and then buy 32gs for 499..........no brainer right? Or am I missing something here?

Uh, yeah! Even with the new lower 3G price, that entails getting into a contract which a lot of people don't want, and don't forget the T Mobile peeps, etc. that want an iPhone to use on another network. That's why Ebay still generates money beyond $100. No way is your 3G on its way to be a doorstop.
