my iPhone X battery is BAD right now!

thinking of upgrading solely for that reason

ios 12.1.2

Oh really? What are your settings or like what's the secret?
No secret. I use my phone like a normal person, I just shut certain things down in location services that I don't use, screen time off, auto brightness on, no facebook, no twitter, no WhatsApp, etc... I usually have to charge every two days. Overnight battery drain with DND on is 2-3%. Battery capacity 97%

Well dang I don't think I could not have those apps. I don't use auto I usually keep it brighter. Oh well

Maybe you should have gotten a battery replacement before the new year.

Do you really want to upgrade to a Xs now just for possibly slightly better battery life? If I’ve learned anything about how you think based on your posts, we both know that 8 months from now you’re going to be itching to buy another shiny new iPhone.

True. I'm at 99% capacity though running peak.

I guess my question was is it noticably better.

I feel like after upgrading to 12.1.2 the battery isn't as good as ios 12.0

Every version of iOS starts out with battery consumption issues, they’ll sort it out as future updates are released..

Yes, though I agree that the 12.1.2 may not be helping much right now. Overall I would say my battery life is better, though it's hard to say how much better until I have more time with it (Got it at first of December.)

iOS 12.1.2 has been one of the better iOS 12 variants in terms of battery life on my X and 10.5.

The secret:

Disable Screen Time.

Reboot.
