I am having issues streaming from the ATV that don’t seem to go away despite streamlining my network as much as I can.

I have always felt 1.1 was the most stable IIRC of the bunch for streaming, but I figured I would ask around before I start retrograding my firmware to test and see if I can get a little more stability.

Anyone have a preference or opinion when streaming stability is the only consideration?

We have 3 ATVs so I am going to continue running 2.1 and a different firmware simultaneously together from the same iTunes account, and to the same TV with HDMI1 and HDMI2 as the sources, to see if I can discern a difference if there is one.

The problems I get is that the ATV seems to drop off the network despite being on Ethernet (cat6 not that it helps because of no Gigabit support on the ATV) and I get a lot of lag waiting for content to load often. i also get a lot of freezing of the hardware where inputs are clearly seen by ATV but no response for up to a minute or two in some cases.

While the lag is no picnic, the ATV dropping off the network when someone comes over and picks up the remote, is quite embarrassing when you are singing its praises, and it lets you down miserably in front of someone.

Any opinions on which firmware proceeded 2.1 that might be a bit hardier when streaming is the only consideration?
