Hey all! Having a tough time deciding on which color even though I’ve seen them both in store. I love the look of the black bands on Space Black. I also love that the Silver this year has a true “white” back instead of a creamy/off white. Feel free to share your thoughts and pictures of your Silver iPhone! Thanks!

Out of all the silvers iPhones out there, I definitely like this years silver the best. Still for me, I had to do the space black, too nice to say no to lol.

I’m very done with Apple’s Grey and Black models. The darker they get, the more formless they look in most lighting. They hardly show much of the beauty with how dark it gets. The first few Slate and Grey tones were still metallic and sleek.

But in general, I’m tired of the dark coatings. Something about the dark coating thing is sort of trendy and unreliable to me now. As someone who’s had 8/10 of my iPhones in the black/grey models.

I think there’s a reason they will forever have a market for tint-free steel or aluminum metals - it’s timeless and looks good in most lighting. iPhone 4 was probably my favorite due to black glass and untinted metal.

I’m very happy with my iPhone 14 Pro. I’ve gained nice utility out of the Always On Display and the camera a bit better (though not as much of a jump from the iPhone 13 Pro as I was expecting).

To your color question, I haven’t been a fan of Apple’s many incarnations of “Space Gey” over the years as most were either essentially silver or, starting with the 11 Pro, kind of brownish to my eyes. It looked awful so I chose a silver iPhone 12 Pro. That looked very nice, but the raw Stainless Steel is incredibly fragile and became scuffed just from a pocket. With the 13 Pro the “graphite” seemed no different so I went with Sierra Blue. All of the colored stainless steel models have a coating which makes it much more durable. It was nice.

With the 14 Pro even Apple’s marketing images showed that the new “Space Black” was noticeably darker so I rolled the dice. I am extremely pleased. I think this was much closer to the “Matt black” rumors a few years ago. I can say that in most lighting that phone looks solid black (the sides and back are noticeably darker) and even in direct sunlight looks only a few shades lighter. Apple could use a truly black glass panel for the black, but this is as close as we’ve had since the iPhone 7 jet black.

I love the silver. I had the blue last year. The silver is just so damn classy looking. The space gray is always a solid choice, but I think there's something really classy about the silver

There lies your problem. You’ve been ordering dark colors since day one. Of course you’d say that. 👌🏼👍🏼😂
Now for someone like me who hasn’t had a “dark” iPhone since the 4s. It’s a breath of fresh air.

I’ve had silver before, but the stainless scratches easily. This year I went with Gold. It is so good looking. The sides are gold, of course, but the back is a white-gold and not yellow as before. Anyway, I just wanted to add that color. Are you a case user? Gold and silver blend better with multiple case colors, black does not.

Negative. Nothing worse than seeing a sliver or colored frame to distract when viewing content on your iPhone screen. Hence why TV manufactures use black bezels. You should know this being into photography brah.

I don’t think you can go wrong with any color. I chose the White, after a debate with Deep Purple. But the Space Black and Gold both look classy as well.

I think it somewhat depends on what (if any) case you use. I use a clear with aluminum accents, so this looks great with the White.

Positive.. I always use a case. I currently have the Zagg Gear4 tan Denali snap case with black bezel and tan back. Besides using an iPhone 14 pro without a case doesn’t distract from the screen if it is silver or gold…. Unless you hold it at a 15° angle instead of flat in a very bright room. You hold it at an angle, don’t you… don’t lie. Lol.

Depends what case mate. Using Apple cases leaves the edge of the stainless steel frame visible when viewing your device face on. I don’t hold anything but a pint of lager at an angel 👍🏼😂

I use clear cases on a silver model, and don't find anything distracting about it at all.
Currently I have the Apple clear on mine.
In fact, even in bright lighting, nothing is glaring at least to me about the frame.

Granted, back in the days where the silver model had a white bezel, that argument could be made much easier.

That’s really good to know 👍🏼 ask yourself. Why aren’t major TV panels bezels not silver or white.

The edge of the stainless frame is tiny, less than a millimeter. Y’all are complaining about that? Watch your movie in a dark room then… the reflection on the glass of the iPhone is worse than the color of the bezel. That’s a lot of nit picking!!!!!!! Just get the color you want, you’ll be happier in the long run. This is why I use these: Hands down the best glass you can put on your iPhone.

There are examples, actually of silver frames. A simple Google search will resolve that one for you.
Also ask yourself, is a phone the same thing as a TV? Does a TV have a Dynamic Island?

That’s not true… You’re literally making stuff up lol. iPhone in silver has more black bezel than many major TVs. Many TVs have silver bezels. Just looked to make sure I wasn’t dreaming, and there’s numerous LG, Samsung, and more currently in the lineups with silver bezels.

I was also deciding between silver and space black before preorder. At the end, I chose silver mainly because the screen benzel looks thinner with the silver stainless steel band. My partner has the space black and the benzel looks thicker with the black band. Other than that, I think both phones look awesome and it’s just me nitpicking.

I find that once you put a case on it (like 90% of people do) you don't even notice what colour you have. I don't at least.

I almost always buy silver then use the Apple clear case. For me it has that Apple cleanness and simplicity. You can’t go wrong though. They all look great!
