I use DDG as my default in Safari and have for several years (I don't use any Google Services). I am messing around with my M1 MBP, monitoring CPU use to see what is using up RAM, etc. I noticed that DDG's privacy extension was using 50% of my CPU. Disabling it dropped my idle to 80%.

I'm not really sure how much of a benefit using the extension was giving me but I'm thinking it will need updating to be more efficient. Just thought I would share in case anyone else was using it and seeing battery usage.
