Samsung has released a 9.5mm 2 platter 1TB HDD:

5400RPM, 1TB, 2 platter means that 12.5MM drives could be going 1.5TB very soon, but more importantly that we can now have 2TB in our MacBooks.
I plan to replace my 500GB with one, and move all my external storage(706GB) onto it. It will allow me to get rid of my external storage drive and only need an external drive for TimeMachine.
