For those who never bought AC + for previous iPhones, will you get it for the iPhone X? Assuming you get it... of course.......

Nope, I expect AC+ to cost more for the X, but so will paying for a new cracked display outside of AC.

It's like any other insurance. You buy it in the hope that you'll never have to use it. It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
Not gonna lie, if paid for apple care and didn't end up using it, i would feel "imcomfortable"

Do you hope that you crash your car to use your car insurance? How about an untimely death to make good on life insurance? Insurance is buying peace of mind. It's the comfort of knowing that if you accidentally smash your $1000 phone, you get a brand new one for practically nothing compared to the $1000 more you would have to pay otherwise.

I purchased AP+ for my 7 Plus, and never had to use it. And I feel absolutely great.

I will be purchasing AP+ for the 8 as well.

It’s such a simple, quick and convenient process, unlike dealing with external insurance providers. And on top of that, you get a new phone (refurb) instead of a potential dodgy repair job (especially concerning when you consider issues such as water resistance).

I voted "no" but, of course, it depends on home much the glass screen replacement costs w/o AC. If AC and the cost of the screen w/o AC stay the same (or same % differential) as the iPhone 7 then I'll skip and self insure.

I have never purchased AppleCare for any of my products, except for the Apple Watch. I'm fairly cautious with my devices and I have never had any accidents. But I can understand for those who would want AppleCare for other situations and everybody handles their phones differently.

The only time I ever bought Apple Care+ was for my Jet Black 7+. I didn’t use a case or screen protector at all. Prior to selling it, I used an Apple Care+ replacement and got over $100 more than I would have trying to sell a scratched up phone. Definitely worth it to me and I’ll get it again for the X.

i think i have to with the glass back but the price is pretty steep with an already expensive iPhone. UNLESS my carrier insurance is cheaper.

The only way I would get it would be to take advantage of the annual upgrade program through Apple. If you do not get AC you save about $8 per month, and do not get the option to get a new phone next year.

AppleCare is $149, and if you had to use a paid replacement it's even more. I guess the value to you was the peace of mind, but didn't you come out behind?

Always buy AppleCare+

Always get refund for second year when I trade phone in.

Never have used it yet, go figure. Though did get me some replacement cables.

Derp, I didn’t explain that right at all. After the cost of AppleCare+ and the cost of replacing the phone I likely made out ~$100 better than if I had sold a scratched up phone in poor condition.

Yes. I will probably also supplement with carrier insurance to cover lost/stolen.

I do the IUP.

Ah, understood. Also, I now want chicken fingers with honey...damn your avatar and signature!

I have decent mobile phone insurance through my bank so have never bought applecare.

I feel like Applecare is paying for a potential screen replacement up front. Excess on my insurance is £100 compared to £199 for Applecare.

I'd rather stick £199 in savings account as a back up repair fund. We do that for our car on a monthly basis - it's brand new so under warranty but if say we get a puncture a need a new tyre the money is there and also covers out service.
