Not sure why I'm posting this, but just curious how long it would take a line of 100 people to get through the store and out with their phones? Is it, what, like 5 minutes per transaction? (Yeah, I know multiple people are helped at once...)

So, maybe the question is, how fast does that line move?

Just curious, is all.

well, when the store is closed, the line doesnt move at all. the worst kind of lines because u stand there knowing it wont move. but once the store opens, its quick. best to just wait for the store to open and then get in line so you dont have to sit there just standing around doing nothing

When I was in line there were only about 20 of us. I was number 10 and once the doors opened, they took in 10 at time. I got in line around 0640 and once they let us in, it took about 25-30 minutes to get my phone. I had no idea it would take that long just to purchas a phone, but the sales reps push a lot of crap on you, which takes more time. Plus their machine to transfer contacts wasn't working.

I got to my mall at 745. I was probably 100 or so in line was out by 10. They have 1 line outside. send in 10-15 at a time. then there were 2 lines inside. the last line seemed to move the slowest because the apple sales people were taking their sweet time grabbing new people out of line. showing people macs or just talking to other employees instead of picking up the pace.

I arrived at the Westfarms store at midnight and was 49th in line.

They opened the store around 7:55 and I was in no later than 8:20.

number of variables you can plug in to your Cray Computer

type of store
how many carriers that store supports
response from carriers - which will move up and down all day
capability of the reps
complexity of each persons transaction
how many accessories they buy
insurance, etc
number of reps working
phone availability

DID I REALLY TAKE TIME TO TYPE THIS?

Apple Store in NOLA... Got there for 10am.... Was about 60-70 ppl behind....

Took about 3 hours...

Not too bad, I had a few podcast I needed to catch up on anyway....
