Any users of OS X 10.xx out there who would like to see the current date in the iCal icon in the Dock might want to check out "iconical", works like a charm for me.

interesting
so in 10.2-10.4 the icon doesn't show the date?
What about 10.1 and 10.0? Do they not have iCal?

The date is shown on older versions of Mac OS X, but the date is always the same, July 17th. The day the first version of iCal on an OS X beta was released.

I know, I meant showing the actual date, not an example. But why is iConiCal only for 10.2-10.4? Did 10.1 and older not have iCal or does iConiCal not work on 10.1 and older?

It was first offered as a downloadable application for 10.2, then became bundled with 10.3. No version of iCal supports 10.1 or earlier.

Interesting...I guess that I'd just never paid attention to it.

That would explain why my 10.2.8 install doesn't have iCal but does have a space on the default Dock for it, I was wondering about that.

It actually does, but only when iCal is open. When it is closed it always shows the generic July 17 icon.

Download link appears to be broken. When attempting to download the file from MacUpdate, I'm sent to an external site whose domain is unregistered. If you have the iconical.dmg file, could you share it here?
