For Verizon iPad, how much are taxes/fees per month?

My Dad is thinking of maybe getting a New iPad with Verizon (the $629 model) so they can get 3G internet in the north woods of Wisconsin. He's figuring of getting the $50 5GB plan and activating it from the iPad itself (I think that is considered the pre-paid plan, correct) so he can turn it off in the late fall when back home most of the time.

For those that have this similar plan, how much monthly do you get billed on top of the $50? Is it like a cell phone plan with all the ridiculous fees? Thanks!

In CA, it's $0. It's a flat $50.

No taxes or fees for prepaid plans in the U.S.

I'm pretty sure there are taxes (not sales taxes, since it's a service, but other taxes), but that they're included in the listed price (like VAT). All you're charged is the flat $50 or whatever.

Maybe in your state. Regular (postpaid) plans have sales tax here, having your lawn mowed has sales tax here ... and lots more "services" are taxed. Yet for some reason Verizon and ATT prepaid plans are not nor is my DirecTV service yet in many states it is,
