You guys have given me tons of good advice in the past..

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/183756/

I want to see what you might have to say about my latest video clip. Last time I posted car racing someone demanded natural sound. I think they were right. It definately adds to the effect and impression of speed.

The car is a highly modified escort race car. My friend is crazy. It's true.

what do you think?

Very Nice, the nat sound added SOOO Much more to it. Very nice shots and made me wanna go pull out my Need For Speed High Stakes ;)

But if i remember your old video was alot of cars put together, this would have been cool if you had it. Put some heavy metal music but turn it down a lil so the Nat Sound is still picked up mabey?

But otherwise its awsome man! :) I espechially like the ending "yeaahh!!" lol

Thanks guys. That's some much need encouragement.. I've gotten bashed on some other forums that don't believe that it's not sped up.

I was thinking of the music, but I'm trying to stay on the legal side of the copyright laws.

I assume you edit your movies with iMovie? Try Garageband and make up some music if you want to stay on the legal side.

Yup iMovie has some great music. Check my site on the blog section and look for metallic... somthing like that, its very sketchy though. Your welcome to use it.

I think the chicane shot should be a little longer, because currently, it does look like it's sped up a little.

The shot of the car coming down the hill?

I really wanted that one to turn out better, but it's cut to de-emphasize the shaking though. The rest is much worse. I am a bad cam op.

It's the one with a old-school black Trans-Am in the background, the shot before the one with the Ford van-based RV in the background.

The Apple iLife music is royalty free right?

Hey, that's amazing for an Escort! And well filmed. I gave you four stars on mytube, hopefully that'll make up a little for someone's (unfair) one star...

Intense, quite good. Some great shots.

If you want my advice, here it is:
In the beginning of the film you are "crossing the line" with your edits, not sure if it´s intentional.

What I mean is that the car is comming left to right in one shot, then right to left in the next.
It makes it look like the car is comming from 2 different locations. It will be more "smooth" if the car comes from the same side of the screen (less jumpy)

One way to edit around this if you don´t have matching shots is to use your excellent inside of the car shot.
The edit will be like this:
1 shot: EXT (exterior) car L to R
2 shot: INT (interior) car
3 shot: EXT car R to L

Not saying one have to edit like this, jump cuts are used to great effect many times. Do try it though, if only to see what I´m talking about

Hope this is to some help as I don´t know how experienced you are. This info might be old news to you for all I know.
Keep up the good work

Agreed. Also a little distracting how the camera hanging out the car window is only there in half the shots.

Nice work, though, and I love the various views.

Interesting... I'll try that. I'm not all that experienced, so it's really nice to hear ideas like that.

Thanks!!
