I've read tips that said if you select a hard drive in the Finder and bring up view options (command J) and select "Show Item Info" this is suppose to force all folders and files to show additional information below the file or folder name; however, this only works for the first level of folders in the hard drive even if the "Use as Defaults" button at the bottom of the view options window is also clicked.

How does one force all files and folders to show such information on every drive?
