In order to use the wireless keyboard and mouse from my iMac, but still keep the iMac running I need a way to force switch off bt.

When I use the menu, it blocks it and says you can't switch it off cause then you'll have no input device.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Danny

I'm a bit confused about the wording of your question.

You want to continue to use the keyboard and mouse ( I assume they use BT to connect) but turn off BT as well? I feel like you're contradicting yourself.

Why do you want to turn of BT?

Sorry about the misunderstanding.

I want to shut off BT, so that the link to the mouse and keyboard gets broken, so I can pair them to another Mac.

The issue is that OSX don't want to let me do that, cause it's the only input for the iMac.

I hoped to do it through Remote Management but that didn't work.

Any ideas?

1) Plug in a USB mouse and keyboard
2) Turn off the Apple BT ones and switch off BT on your current Mac
3) Turn on BT on the other Mac and pair with the keyboard/mouse
4) Enjoy :D

What if you just turn off the computer and then take the mouse and keyboard over to the new computer and connect them through BT? Would that remove the previous connection?
