How do you force ciose an app on the 3GS so that it doesn't run in the background? I know multiple applications running in the Background can kill the battery....Thanks in advance

I thought this was widely known & posted, but I guess maybe not ...

While in the app you want to force quit, press & hold the sleep/wake button until the slider appears to power the phone off. When you see that, then press and hold the home button for a few seconds until the app quits.

Hold the power button till the red "slide to power off" appears...

Then hold the home button down till your home page shows

we psoted at the same time.. sorry for the duplicate

does this close all running apps or do u have to be in that specific app to do this

Apps close when you close them. Only Apple apps continue running in the background (phone, MMS, iPod, Mail, etc...). No third party apps runs in the background.
