I have a Blackmagic eGPU with a 2018 Mac mini, and whilst you can select what applications should use the eGPU, is it possible to default to the eGPU for all applications? I have found a couple of scripts which seem to open all Applications and then set "prefer eGPU to on' but I was wondering if there is an easier way.

Thanks for any advice!

I may try this. Do you care to share the scripts that you found? Have you found another way?

I'm under the impression that if your monitor is plugged directly into the eGPU (rather than the Mac) then you don't have to do any manual configuration

@frou is correct - it was an an ID10-T error! When something fell off the back of my desk the other day and I went to pick it up - I noticed that the monitor was connected directly to the Mac mini - I connected it to the eGPU directly and now it uses the eGPU all the time.
