I just bought a couple of HomePods that I will be getting next week. My router is separated into two networks, a 2.4 and 5ghz, like most modern routers. My iPhone and iPad are both connected to the 5ghz network and I know the HomePod is supposed to inherit the network of the device that sets it up. Is there a way to force the HomePods onto the 2.4ghz network during setup or do I have to forget the 5ghz network on my iPhone and log into the 2.4 and then do the setup? I will want to forget the 2.4 on the iPhone after and change it back to the 5ghz if I have to do the setup this way, so will that cause problems with the HomePods in the future?

Thanks

You should to this:

Forget the 5 Ghz on your iPhone, connect to the 2.4 Ghz, setup the HomePod, now on your iPhone connect to the 5 Ghz and disable auto-join of the 2.4 Ghz without forgetting it.

It worked for me in the past.
