I was installing some Mac software updates and it was stuck on the placing files part forever, so I forced shut it down by holding the power button down, and now when I boot my computer it's stuck on the apple logo screen. Not sure what to do... Any ideas?

Hm...I've done that before and I was able to boot up but my wifi was broken so i just redownloaded the update and stuck it on a flash drive and installed it that way.
But since you can't even start up, the only thing i can think of is to boot from your OS X CD and try using Disk Utility from there. You might have to erase and do a clean install though.

I put my snow leopard disk in and held down option at boot, but nothing happens... I just want iOS 5 lol and now this.

What will happen if I reinstall snow leopard over lion? I'm pretty sure it's not possible but it's the only possible thing I can do before I just clear everything and start over.
