I'm running 13.5 on my phone and 6.2.5 on my Series 5 AW.

A couple nights ago, right as I was about to go to bed (I sleep with my watch), I got an alert that I needed to change the passcode on my watch. It wouldn't let get out of the prompt. I don't remember the exact text, however, but it was something about how my phone and watch can't have the same passcode (I've had the same one on both devices going back to the original Apple watch). So I changed it, but then went to change it back and it says, "The passcode you entered was recently used. Please create a new one." So now I'm stuck with the new one, and 5 years worth of muscle memory to retrain.

This happen to anyone else? I guess this is a new "feature" in the the OS updates.

Apple never requires that you change your passcode. Your iPhone is probably managed by your employer. Do you have an Exchange account at work?

ah i do. i've seen that on my phone before but never just on my watch.

I might have mentioned that I am in the same boat. Because I have one company managed iPad, my personal iPad, iPhone and Watch are subject to the same passcode change requirements.
