Forcing an application into the menu bar?

I would like to run an application from the menu bar rather than from the dock. I can get rid of the dock icon using Dockless, but the application doesn't have a menu bar icon available from the application's preferences. I'd be happy with just a way to launch the application from the menu bar, as the app's hardly compliant with Mac's standards. Thanks for any help!!
