Forcing apps to use proxies

I really want Zattoo, and it's not available in the United States. I successfully downloaded it and signed myself up for it using a UK proxy in Safari, but the application itself on my computer uses my US IP address and gives me an error message that the service isn't available in my country.

Is there a way to force it to use a proxy?
