Hi all, I have a 2g iPod Touch, and was wondering if there is anyway to "force" updates on my iPod. I cant update it through iTunes, and thats how it should be; I was thinking there would be some way to download it, and then install it on my iPod some other way. Thanks for listening.

No. Since the internal components are different, even a forced install (if it existed) wouldn't work because it wouldn't have "drivers" for the 2nd Gen Touch.

That being said, a Jailbreak can negate the need for newer iOS releases. Cydia apps and tweaks can let you do anything a new iOS device can, and even better in some cases.
