Today I am getting two choices to update my 15.1.1: install now or tonight, with no option to refuse an update.
How do I refuse this update? The notification is blocking the right end of my URL bar with no choice to close the notification.

Thanks, Big!

When I go to s/w update in settings the threat to update now or tonight is still there and Auto Updates is still OFF. Hope it doesn't update.

Did not update overnight! Thanks
Then again, don't be afraid to update when the dust has settled.
If your system is standard or just equipped with some dependable 3rd party stuff it won't harm you,
while behind the curtains the fight with hackers goes on.

I saw this notification this morning. I am sure that previously (on Sonoma) there was at least an "X" or something to dismiss the notification, but now it really seems to want me to click on one of the two buttons.

I clicked the notification itself (neither of the buttons) and that caused it to open the Settings app to the updates screen. I then just closed out of the Settings app. I am sure it will pester me with the notification again in a few days.

I have auto updates disabled. It shouldn't be able to actually do the update until I key in my admin password, I think... (Either "Update now" or "Update tonight" button would result in a prompt for my admin password.)

Anyway, since the mess that was macOS 14.4, I now prefer to wait at least a few days for bug reports to show up on news sites and places like this before deciding if I want to upgrade, or if I want to wait for i.e. 15.2.1. My tolerance for being a "guinea pig" is not as high as it used to be.

Agreed, then profit from other guinea pigs like me; you're welcome.
