Hey,

so yeah, I am really disappointed, so please excuse my choice of words...
So I am gonna get the 15inch retina now, but still I am scared because of all that stuff you read with ghost images and so on...
So can I tell the guy at the Apple Store that I am gonna check if everything is alright and if not Im giving it back?
What are the things i need to know when buyin the 15 inch retina one?

Thanks in advance
cheers :)

Wait for the update next year. Too many issues and it's still underpowered in the graphical dept. So how the hell the 13" will cope with just HD 4000 leaves me mind-blown.

Oh god, another one of these threads?

Check apple.com for what you need to know on their own products.

Its not under powered at all, dont spread propaganda. Ivy Bridge is plenty sufficient. I have NO lagging or ghosting. Get your facts straight.

I agree with Steve, wait till next year. After all the way Apple's going were going to start getting MBP refreshes every 6 months....

It's not propaganda. I know two people with the 15" version and for both of them it coughs and splutters it's way through anything that is even slightly graphically intensive.

The 650 is too weak to drive the display...

No it's not. It's plenty sufficient. I as well as tons of others have no issues. More people are satisfied than not. Again get your facts right.

My facts are right. If you are happy with yours then great. But the 650M was a stupid cost saving option for Apple.

I agree it was a stupid costs savings, but even the HD4000 is sufficient. Yes there is better options but its still sufficient. Get your facts right.

So watch the next great rMBP struggle after Apple drops the GeForce in favor of the Haswell based Intel video controller only. Folks ASSUME the next version will be better. It may not be. No crystal balls.

Hey,

So can I tell the guy at the Apple Store that I am gonna check if everything is alright and if not Im giving it back?

You have 14 days to decide if you want to keep it or not like all apple products so you don't need to tell them that.

I just put my order in for a 15 rmbp after this morning's disappointment. A few of my friends with the 15 rmbp say it's a really minor thing. Biggest issue is the slowness of the graphics, which really doesn't matter unless you're a big gamer. I just code all day

slowness of the graphics? 650m is decent for games. but it still hiccups in general UI tasks.

and coding all day? guess what, coda actually lags on the rmbp.

There is a 14-day no questions asked return policy. They are usually quite generous with how many times you return the device too.

To be honest, if you don't mind not having your laptop for a day or two, the replacement part for the rMBP15 #661-7171 is guaranteed to be a Samsung display and that will solve the ghost problem.

I had my hands on 5 different rMBP and did not experience any dead pixels or creaking or slowdown issues on any of them.

what does this mean?
is there a refresh in a few days?
how did you know about that part number?
