Forgot about my $100 iPhone credit...until now.

Nope...worked fine. As they said, limited time to get the credit voucher, but they never expire.
From when they dropped the pricing on the iPhone?
There's no way that worked unless you got a gift card.
that is what they gave. A virtual card with number and pin. And yes, as I said, and as they promised, it worked fine.
i think what apple gave you was essentially a gift card. it even had the pin number with it.
Let's see a screenshot of your receipt for this purchase then. There is no way we're talking about the same thing, because the credit that was issued for first gen iPhone owners expired like 18 months ago.
Now see, you used the word "card." That's different.
The original deal was something you went online for, and then printed out a receipt that had a unique code for. Not a gift card, which never expires.
I think we're talking two different things. Were you an original iPhone owner that paid full price? ($499/$599)?
Yes, I paid $599, and yes, that is how they gave the credit. You went online, registered, and it gave you a $100 virtual gift card that I printed as a PDF.

I spent mine in April. One had until 30/11/2007 to apply for it, but they don't expire.

You're wrong. Tons of people used theirs to buy an iPhone 3G. How could they have done that with a code that expired 6 months before according to you?
You had until some time in November 2007 to get the card, but it can be used forever.
I worked at the Apple Store up until a month ago and people were still bringing in those $100 print outs. They simply would not redeem in our system, which is why I have no idea how this poster (and many others it seems) manage to get them to work.

Maybe they only work online now. I know we could not redeem them in the store.

Of you working in an Apple store and not being able to redeem the credit. I know for a fact that you never tried to redeem a credit that didn't work. They always worked.
