Recently reinstalled my OS from scratch and I'm having trouble remembering how to show your desktop and documents folder in your home folder without disabling iCloud Drive Desktop & Documents. I like having desktop and documents stored in iCloud Drive, I just can't get used to not having them in my home folder. Alias doesn't work properly with finder navigation. On my old system I somehow figured out how to unhide those two specific folders in my home folder (they're still there if you hit shift+cmd+.) but I can't remember how I did it.
