Forgot restriction passcode, how get out?

I am not sure how it happened but I cannot recall what code I entered for Restrictions.

I tried looking for a file that might have the code, but was not there.
Maybe not looking right place.

If I upgrade to iOS 8 will it ask for new code? (I am not an day 1 upgrader).
