Yes you actually will be able to see in your settings once you get the new phone the option to purchase AppleCare plus I think you have 60 days to do it but you will actually be able to purchase it right from your phone. Or you can always call Apple online but you should not have an issue purchasing it from your phone I usually do that every year. This year I added it to the cart right away normally I forget it and just do it later and the great thing about it did you get the 3% off if you pay with your Apple credit card

You can add it after you get the phone. I think they give you up to 60 days after purchase to add it.
