I forgot to select applecare + when ordering in the rush.. i'm assuming it will be similar to iPhones/macs that you have a month to get it after the purchase?

Go back and purchase it under Shop Watch > Accessories.

I would think so. To be safe, go in store before you even open the box.

I tried and it wouldn't let me add because I didn't have a required product in the cart. If it is like iPhone, you can just call it in - they don't care to even look. Even when I purchased in an Apple store he didn't even want to examine my iPhone.

You have 60 days, per the web site. Just go into the store, show them the watch and done.

You won't be able to buy it online after the fact since it can only be purchased online along with a watch.
