Hey,

Upgraded to a rMBP a year and a half ago, so gave my White Macbook to my parents. It is still on Mavericks 10.9.1.

My dad recently tried to install something and it promoted for the password, but I don't remember what I set it too!

What are my options? I don't want to have to reinstall everything  .

EDIT: Argh, just realized it is in the wrong forums. Is it possible to move it to the Mavericks forums? Or should I delete?

IIRC, you should be able to boot to the recovery partition, or using a USB installer, be able to reset the password using the password utility. I'm going off of memory here (someone will correct me), but I think it's Command-R at boot time to get to the recovery partition.
