Resolved Forgotten Appple user pwd

OK, got my first Mac - a Mac mini, and trying to install something needed for Xcode and I'm asked for the Apple pwd.

Now it just so happens I can't remember it - it doesn't seem to be any of my usual ones!

I hadn't associated it with my Apple ID, so can't use that method.

So, is there a 'minimum spec' for this that may give me a clue (min chars, at least one number etc.).

If all else fails, what do I do next ? Can I do a reinstall?

There is only 1 account on it (mine, the admin account)

Then write down your new password and keep it in a safe place.

Second one looks like it's just the ticket.

Can't use the first as my account is the admin account.

OK sorted. The 'resetpassword' did what it says on the tin.
