Leopard's been in development for a long time now, and I've found that some of the old, pre-iPhone rumors we saw last year are losing momentum, especially in light of the first Leopard demo which focused on many previously un-rumored features (Time Machine, Spaces). I thought we'd reflect on some of these lost rumors and see if maybe some of them could be Leopard's "top secret" features.

A "Maps" application
iPhone development got Google engineers involved for Google Maps on iPhone. This is clearly a more Apple-like implementation of their (sometimes clunky) web application. Perhaps they've been working on a bigger, desktop client as well? This was rumored.

Media auto-recognition and "tagging"
We heard a little bit about Spotlight when Leopard was demoed, but remember that rumor last year that Leopard would have some kind of media recognition, e.g. genre and mood recognition for songs, scene recognition for photos?

Can you think of other rumors from long ago that might make sense now? I'm mainly mentioning this because touch screens were rumored a long time before iPhone was shown, and by that keynote, I had completely discounted anything like it on new iPods or iPhone.
