Standing for the moment that I am a little tired of the Finder and want to replace it with something better. But what is better, what would actually be a better alternative?

Of course, I could buy different file managers and test them myself, but when it comes to long-term stability, it’s probably best to ask for real-world experiences from you all.

What are your pros and cons of alternatives like Forklift, Commander One, or other options compared to Finder?
Like
• How well do they perform when a lot of RAM is in use?
• Is there any speed comparison available? (I searched but couldn’t find much.)

Beside normal Computer use like writing, CAD and calculations, I do some development, Excel and scripting like Bash, Python, VBA, Swift, GIT, e.t.c
Have several NASses and Cloud connections ( use now AutoMount ) ChronoSync.

Looking forward to your insights!

There is a long running but still useful thread Best Finder Alternatives.

Others to consider QSpace Pro, Path Finder.

FWIW Over the years I keep trying alternatives but always come back to Finder, as something or other always fails to work correctly....often related to Time Machine and/or iCloud Drive.
