Hey there!

After a long time of being really paranoid about my macbook's physical integrity, after two years of owning it I am finally starting to relax and am ready to consider some protection that is less massive than my moshi codex sleeve I've been using for a while :p

So I was considering one of those clip on cases - enough protection for the shell, and for the ports and vents, I figure I can now trust myself to be careful enough with it (besides, I recently got a backpack with a super-thick laptop compartment. errr, guess I'm still a little paranoid lol ;)). What I like about these is that I can literally just take out the computer from my bag, set it on a table, and start using it - no fiddling with taking it out of the sleeve, or even just dealing with the floppy lid if it's a work-in case like the moshi codex. Much more fun to share pics and the like with friends if you don't have to keep 'em waiting for you to set up your cr@p.

However, I've heard that it's not a good idea to use those rigid plastic ones, because they scratch the shell (which kinda defeats the purpose). So I'm thinking something like the macally Bookshell would work well; it seems to provide a good amount of protection, is not to hard to put on and take off, and doesn't look ugly. It's probably not the best thing out there for ventilation, but the idea is that the case would go on the computer only when I am taking it out, and if I'm sitting in Starbucks working for more than 30 mins or so I would also take it off and put it back on to take home, so overheating shouldn't be a big issue.

So it looks good. But I live in Europe, which means that if I want to buy this, I have to go on macally.com and pay a cool $58 in shipping (ie, twice the price of the case!) So before I do that, I want to shop around and ask y'all if you know of any other cases in the same vein, because maybe I can get these without paying some courier for their usual subpar service ;)

Thanks!
