Format a FileVault encrypted disk

Hello guys,
I have a question for you.

I recently encrypted my iMac's drive with FileVault successfully.
Due to a boot error i had to re-install my Lion, so i re-formatted my hdd without to decrypt it. Are my deleted files (in previously encrypted volume)secure from an unwanted recovery?
