My iPod touch is reading as 6.5 GB. Should it read more?

Sounds about right. That's why I exchanged my 8GB for a 32GB. Now I have 29 GB available instead of 6.5

Like it says on the box, they count GBs by bytes, when 1GB is approx 1024MB.
