I am running an iMac , and have a large collection of movies in avi files , stored on my external HDD ( formatted to Mac OS extended Journaled ) My friend wants me to put my movie collection on his new USB external HDD ( Formatted to MS-DOS FAT32 ) so he can watch then on his PC . I am just wondering about his new external HDD and it being currently formated in MS-DOS FAT32 , will this format be ok and allow me to transfer my avi movie files to his new HDD, and for him to watch them on his PC , or would I have to re format the new external HDD in some other way ..?

Thanks

FAT32 has read/write support in OS X. => No reconfiguration necessary.
But keep in mind that FAT32 has a file size limit of 4GB.

Thanks for the advice, sadly my Movie avi files all seem to be around the
300 - 700 MB size, My friend only wants to use his new external HDD to store
and watch the avi movies from on his PC , nothing else,
