Formating Imac remembering paired device

Hi,

So, I've reformatted my 2009 iMac (snow leopard) and followed articles on how to prepare my mac for-sale. I've done a 7pass erase via Disk Utility and re-installed snow leopard up until the welcome screen.

However, when I get to the welcome screen and quit the installer I noticed that the mac had remembered the name I'd given my bluetooth mouse. Where is this stored? How can I get rid of the name I'd given the mouse?

Any advice would be welcomed

The name of the Bluetooth mouse is kept in the mouse itself. There is no way to remove the name. Just give it a default name like "Magic Mouse".

Thanks for the prompt reply - is there a way to triple check all the data has been erased from the HD?

I've booted from the install disk but there doesn't seem to be a 'Finder' option.

If you've done a 7 pass wipe, it's all gone and can never be retrieved.
