Hello folks.
I have encountered a really stupid retarded situation today, I need your help =)
I have Time Capsule (4th gen), and MacBook Pro. I am using Time Capsule as Time Machine wirelees drive, of course.
After about a week of backing up, Time Machine threw an error complaining about access to Time Capsule hard drive "Unable to continue, destination drive needs to be Mac OS Extended (Journaled) formatted in order to continue".
Basically, Time Machine wants to write onto a specific formatting of hard drive, and it seems that the hard disk inside Time Capsule is NOT formatted to the liking of TM.
I have tried a hundred things throigh software, nothing helped.
- Airport Utility cannot FORMAT hard disk inside TC, it can only erase it.
- Airport Utility, or any other utility for that matter will not even tell me which format is the disk inside TC
- Disk Utility cannot see wireless drives
What the hell can I do? The drive itself works, I can copy to it all of my music and manual backup (all of my work, etc...), but I do not want to do that manually.
I saw on Apple Support forums that some people took out hard drive from Time Capsule, plugged it into regular Mac, formatted and then returned it back. I will not do that, that is just bloody ridiculous. This completely denies the purpose of Time Capsule ...
Help, before I sledgehammer Time Capsule into pieces.
