formatting external hd for itunes - better as extendend journal?

which will mount/load faster better

i have a 2tb external which i want to use for my itunes library aswell other general video formats for plex server, but mainly interested in itunes loading smoothly...and quickly

in the past i have done fat 32 and noticed slow mount and itunes being a bit slow.. not sure if this a formatting issue.. or something else

Format your external for Mac OS Extended (Journaled) for better performance and reliability with the Mac OS. Here is a little information about the other file system formats (BTW; Mac OS Extended is HFS+ in this article):
