Hey. I just started updating all of my music onto my ipod and I didnt actually install the iPod software first (extremely stupid, yes, but I was to excited...).
Anyway, I ejected the iPod from iTunes to use it (I got my music onto it) and then I plugged it back in and my mac couldnt actually see it, but the iPod still got charged up.
So I tried installing the software, but because my mac cant see the ipod, I have to formatt and start again, so how do I do this?

Cheers

Ok I ended up getting a tech from apple.com (the chat thing) to help me out, all I had to do was reset the ipod and it worked great.

You beat me to the solution. I have this happen sometimes with my iPod. It won't be recognized when connected to the computer, all I do is restart the iPod and it works. That can usually solve most problems with the iPod.
