So,

I have a 80GB External HDD just for school stuff, and it is formatted for Windows. Thus, My permissions are "read only". I cannot write on it, or transfer stuff into it. Is there a way to format it for both Windows :( and Mac :apple: so i can both read and write?

Preferbly, I would like the data in it.

I heard MacFuse enables Mac to read NTFS files?

Can the experts advice me on this?

Disk Utility

use disk utility. this comes with mac os x. app>utilities>disk utility.
your hard disk will be shown. select it and select erase. then select
ms-dos file system and click erase free space. and when that's done it can be used on your :apple: and a pc
